When you have a really ornery little boy like Sutton, phone calls from the teacher are not unexpected - in fact they become standard and you deal with each little issue as it comes without a lot of shock involved. BUT, today I was pleasantly surprised with a good phone call to brag about what a great day he had and his teacher had made a deal with him that if he stayed on track and kept up the good work she would call me and tell me how good he was and he did his part so she held up her end of the deal. I absolutely cannot express how impressed I am with Mrs. Kerr and other teachers like her that choose to see the good in all their students and not label them as problem kids rather give them consequences when necessary but still treat them with kindness and stay open minded to their positive potential. I am soooooo glad he was placed in her classroom this year, the difference between second grade and last year is indescribable!
