When you have early Christmas planned for every weekend in Dec (so you get to see most of your family and best friends) and you know the cheese is going to be your downfall and its going to have to be placed at the other end of the table from you (with the teens instructed to shout at you if you start to carve little tiny slices off the Brie, otherwise you will end up scoffing the lot over the course of the evening - because one glass of wine and you cant say no), and then someone talks to you about cheese on toast, right when its lunchtime and you happen to have super-nice cheddar in the fridge (the one with the salt crystals), and you can see your diet going down in flames... (That Carol Marinelli is a Very Bad Influence) (Having firm words with self - lunch is grilled tuna and salad, Kate Hardy, *not* cheese on toast, even if you add layers of spinach and sliced tomato, and that jar of posh chilli and tomato chutney is totally out of bounds...)
