When you have several horses routinely jumping fences 4`3 and higher, the way Daryl has, then that height becomes the new normal. When you always jump little, little seems normal. The best thing aspiring riders can do for their feelings of confidence and ease is to sneak up the ante. Be brave enough to try, assuming you don`t mess up the confidence of your horse by doing so. Little can get so darn comfortable. That`s fine, if that`s all you will ever want or need, but if you aspire to the heights, don`t stay too long in your nice, happy place. You HAVE TO scare yourself out of there! Or you will get welded into a place you both crave and loathe.
