When you hear the Republicans say they are concerned about income - TopicsExpress

When you hear the Republicans say they are concerned about income inequality, what they are talking about is not to redistribute wealth through a progressive tax system. They you code words that give the impression that they care about the middle-class. Their idea is that people who are poor need to succeed, so they are help them succeed by giving tax breaks if they start a business. Buy starting a business, then they can become wealthy as well, so that will redistribute the wealth through capitalistic processes, not through a progressive tax process. BUT the poor do not have enough capital or the borrowing power to start a business, even if they wanted to. Secondly, not everyone has the skill and knowledge to start and operate a successful enterprise. So dont be fooled by their rhetoric about helping the poor succeed. That is the total sum of their anti-poverty and jobs legislation. Unfortunately their approach is not realistic. It is a utopian dream not based on any realistic analysis.
