When you leave a Costco, theres someone at the door to check your receipt. They say its to make sure you didnt overpay, but really its to make sure you paid for that 12-pack of saxophones. Well . . . a guy named Timothy Walls was at a Costco in Portland, Oregon back on January 28th of last year, and as he was leaving, they stopped him to check his receipt. He felt like the store didnt have the right to stop him like that, so he refused to let them check it. An employee GRABBED him . . . they started arguing . . . it escalated . . . another employee ended up kicking him in the leg . . . and BROKE it. So now hes suing Costco for $670,000. His lawyer says that it was within Timothys rights to leave, and the store stopping him violated his Fourth Amendment rights against unreasonable searches. Theres no word from Costco on the lawsuit.
