When you make a decision in business, how much careful thought do - TopicsExpress

When you make a decision in business, how much careful thought do you put into really seeing if that decision fits your bigger vision? Most seldom do, why? Because they dont have a bigger vision. I remember years ago I got the rare but amazing opportunity to mentor with Matthew Kelly who is a world renewed speaker, consultant and author of some amazing books like Dream Manager and Rhythm of Life. He told me a story of how he got asked to go on the bus with the Miami Dolphins and coach them for a few hours on the way to a game. The price tag was 30k. The offer was very appealing. But he said no. In no way did it fit into his bigger vision. Of course I was shocked as the opportunity sounded like loads of fun and who would pass up that kind of money? Someone with a clear vision. Over the years I have learned to become very discerning also. Its not a skill that came easy being the impulsive person I am. I cannot tell you how many people have asked me to write books with them, how many compilation book deals I have been asked to be a part of and my gut continued to tell me to wait until the right opportunity came along. Its funny to hear everyone say now, its about time but I dont operate by my timing, I operate by Gods timing. He is driving the train. Sometimes we are better off holding out for something greater but only you will know that. Too many people jump the minute someone asks them to joint venture or put their name to something. Your name is golden as is your vision, protect it with all your might because once a deal is inked, its inked and theres no backing out. Because I dont believe in second guessing, buyers remorse or not completing what I agree to, I must be very discerning on the front end and it doesnt take long for me to know which way to go. My gut and heart know instantly if something is right. So I remind you today, practice being a little more discerning. Get your vision mapped out and get focused on where you need to go. Dont be afraid to say no. Can I get an amen?
