When you raise livestock.. you expect losses.. you do everything in your power to prevent it.. but sometimes.. despite all the care in the world.. animals will die.. its a hard lesson to learn.. harder for two little boys with emotional issues... As we buried Dewey.. I looked into the distance.. heard the sobs of my children.. and felt my heart break for them.. Life in the country has a harsh reality to it.. a lesson that I would give anything to shield my sons from.. to let them keep their innocence for a few moments longer.. One grows up fast on the farm.. that doesnt make the lessons any easier.. Feeling at a loss tonight.. holding my sons hands.. answering questions.. Trying to help our sons work through this dark moment...
