When you read Woolworths nice tales of happy cows at the checkout, but then you read between the lines and realise what is not said. ... or when you contact Black Cat Peanut Butter and ask them if they use palm oil to roast their nuts and they reply: We dont have to tell you. ... or when you ask Lonmin if they could have afforded to treat their workforce humanely, and they say, hum dee dum... This is what happens when companies employ armies of lawyers, accountants, spin doctors and corporate spies to allow them to skirt the edges of laws, which often cross far over the line delineating moral and immoral.
