When you read this article, there are three glaring inaccuracies: #13 - There are gangs in prison analogous to street gangs but you do not need to join one. As a matter of fact, show everyone on day 1 that you are your own person and you will be respected. #11 - Healthcare inside is atrocious. I watched several inmates die from highly curable maladies. Most doctors working in prisons are there because they cannot work anywhere else due to ineptitude and suspended licenses due to repeated malpractice. Atrocious only begins to describe the healthcare inside. #9 - You may find a piece of chocolate on your pillow, but do not eat it. If you do, you belong to whoever put it there.
