When you set extremely high expectations, you set yourself up for disappointment. Especially when its in a sport that depends on multiple factors including a dog, a throw and the weather (mainly the wind). However, even when you dont achieve all of your expectations, you can still consider your achievements a success because you achieved some goals and learned from the failures. Today was that type of day. Although I didnt break any works records (we were throwing into a head wind) I did win two Xtreme Distance World Championships (in Light and Unlimited plastic) and I also got a 2nd & 3rd in Light, a 2nd and 4th in Classic and a 2nd in Unlimited. Davy Whippet also had a great recall all day which is something weve been struggling with so that was awesome. And Lara and I came 3rd in Pairs D/A with Vapor with 18 points! Considering that Ive practiced throwing less this year than any of the previous 13 years since I started throwing a Frisbee because of all the traveling and remote contract work Ive been doing, today was a huge success! Thanks Lara Bones Sorensen for your support and help making this possible for me and nice work on finishing 2nd in Micro and 4th in Light! A huge congrats to all of the winners today including Jenelle Miller, who cleaned up winning 3 Xtreme Distance World Championships and Gary Duke for being able to throw 70 yards and winning the Whippet battle today in Classic plastic ;)
