When you start speaking of equal rights and justice they remind you that class is the precursor to injustices. When you start decrying that capitalism manifested through Whites and continues to manifest they say dont speak of colour it is a class issue. But it is out of race and capitalism that we continue to be segregated, in poverty and squalor. I find it difficult to engage on race, class and gender issues with by products of the oppressor at a conceptual stage of my analysis of race relations. I prefer to say this given the space and time so I dont call people racists when confronted with the reality because racists acts are not temporary but always at play. Infiltration by those who prefer to speak of class before race is not new.
