When you visit any place in this world you feel comfortable , secure and stress free if you can place total faith in the local law providers. Aamir Khan through his Satyamev Jayate series tackles a number of social evils which exist in the world’s largest democracy, India. His episodes have influenced the Political system of the country, and so many laws are created for the protection of the society and justice for the people. But since the front line people who are supposed to implement these laws turn their back, and treat this as another opportunity to earn money by allowing the laws to be broken. Aamir’s 2nd episode of season showed us how ill equipped the police are and the pressures on them to overlook crime. Politicians seem to own the police and use them to their advantage by pressurising the implementation of the law in their own favour. It is a slow process and I am hoping that one day the nation awakens and puts a stop to the unnecessary prosecution of the innocents who deserve justice. Here in the west, crime continues to be rampant, but as the local law enforcement are so honest and supportive that an average citizen is able to conduct his/her business without fear.
