When you vote you decide whether or not you want to support - TopicsExpress

When you vote you decide whether or not you want to support Powerful Conglomerate A or Powerful Conglomerate B. Those are your only options. Choices that are not backed by a Powerful Conglomerate dont appear on your ballot, except when nothing of significance is at stake. This is not a conspiracy theory and should also not be interpreted negatively. It is merely an urge to take Powerful Conglomerates less seriously. If you like Powerful Conglomerate A more than Powerful Conglomerate B -- a perfectly justifiable preference -- feel free to vote that way. I myself will likely be doing this. You may in fact even be an active participant in one of these Powerful Conglomerates, in which case it could not be more reasonable for you to vote that way. And this is not to say that the Powerful Conglomerates are the same. The Powerful Conglomerates often disagree on issues of substance that will affect the lives of millions of people, perhaps even you. Sometimes what is in the interests of Powerful Conglomerate A will also benefit much of humanity, and what is in the interests of Powerful Conglomerate B will only benefit Powerful Conglomerate B. Collateral benefit is a wonderful justification for voting for Powerful Conglomerate A. Of course, both Powerful Conglomerates will try to convince you they are acting on humanitys behalf, and Powerful Conglomerates can be very convincing. But hey, dont worry so much! Yes, America is ruled by Powerful Conglomerates, just like every other nation in history. But the good news is that were now allowed to laugh at them without being hanged for treason. So get out there and help tip the balance of power ever so slightly toward Powerful Conglomerate A!
