When you want to raise a child in the right way, sending them off to daycare / school itself it not good parenting and no one would say it is. Its not sufficient to just enroll in the good schools. You also have to set up the right environment at home. You have to pay attention to them and make sure they get practice and keep at their work. You have to make sure they get opportunities outside of school to express themselves and grow. You have to pay attention to their friends and their peers. So its strange to me that people want a good society and well run government but many people dont even vote. Thats like the basic minimum level of commitment and you see many places with less than 60% voter turnout. But like finding the good school, you need to find the right candidates. But thats not enough. You need to educate other citizens and be active. You need regular involvement in the community and also give feedback to the government in charge. Constructive feedback, not just complaints. By being a citizen, youre like a parent. You have responsibilities. But many people are not willing to do what it takes to help care for their society. But we always find time to complain. Its funny how we humans are.
