When your daughter comes home from first day back at Canterbury College to be told that her 2nd year A level Spanish has been dropped by the Academy who agreed to take her on via the college, it sort of puts a parent in a bit of a head space that isnt calm. And after 1 1/2 hours of trying to contact someone, anyone! to explain, It appears that Kent County Council Education department dont deal with 6th form education, academies can do what they like, including dropping an A level subjects half way through, and apart from Canterbury College trying to find a way of getting her into somewhere to do the 2nd year, there is naff all can be done, except make a formal complaint for the governors to consider. What a fabulous government we have. Such astounding heights of educational madness. Looks like a call to a grimy national newspaper is on the cards. Any of my friends in education out there who can help, I would be grateful. Information brickwall right now.
