When your grandchildren ask what we did to try to save the planet, - TopicsExpress

When your grandchildren ask what we did to try to save the planet, make sure that they understand that it was Tony Abbott that worked so hard to stop it from being saved. This shall be his legacy - he will be remembered as a boogeyman, a wrecker, a malignant boil on the posterior of history. He is to be used as a lesson for future generations in the dangers of democracy in an unthinking society ruled by corporate interests and a callous media. Point at him when you teach your children the importance of listening to science over religion, reason over fear, and substance over slogans. Religion can have a place, but only when it doesnt contradict science. Fear can be a useful survival tool, but it must be a reasonable fear. Slogans can be useful rallying cries, but they must be matched by the substance of the argument, rather than cover for hollow lies. A day and a half after the repeal of the carbon tax, and I am still angry. While Tony Abbott is the face we will spit our disgust at, he did not act alone. It will be, and should be, Tony Abbotts legacy, but Greg Hunt should be remembered for his betrayal of the environment. Clive Palmer must take some of the blame as well. The whole Liberal/National/LNP/PUP/IPA/News Corp mess is responsible. Labor is partly responsible, for not managing the personalities well enough, and not selling the facts strongly enough, and not challenging the lies loudly enough, and for allowing these bastards to become electable. We, as Australians, are responsible. By electing a parliament who have agreed to this, we have made the world a worse place, and made saving it so much harder. Our grandchildren will have reason to be angry as well. Betraying our grandchildren. Betraying our grandchildren is more offensive than wind turbines.
