When your heart breaks for no other reason than it has hoped; when youve found yourself wracked with sobs so deep you had to hold on to something to catch your breath; when the tears came so stridently rendering your voice impossible for prayer: you have reached the threshold where thought and defense is useless. You are here- perhaps because it has been coming. Perhaps because its for your own good. You become raw, exhausted, incapable of anger, righteous indignation, or brave martyr-like positivity. It in this state that I am humbled. It is here that I rest, and wait to shed my skin. It is here that I grieve, and shake, and rage and turn over, and am silent. Waiting for answers, dreams, breath, and warmth like the nourishment of a ripe sunrise. It will take as long as it will take. And the one I must ask for the most patience is myself.
