When youre in love w/ someone...youre very acute to the opinions of that individual. If this person constantly declares you to be toxic, whenever strife arises between the 2 of you...naturally, youll find yourself entertaining this possibility. You have effectively relegated yourself to be the bone of contention. Not only to them, but to yourself. The seed of doubt has been sown. You have now deconstructed everything that youve known about yourself, on the strength of what someone else deems to be true. Youre in love. Because of that...you never take the time to ask yourself...Maybe THEY...are the toxic ones? Youre in love. You only see and hear, what you want to see and hear. Eventually, they go away. Leaving YOU, and your toxicity to hold the blame. You blame yourself, and yearn for this person to be back in your life. One night youre lying in bed...you have an epiphany. Why is it that everyone else in your life, considers you to be their rock? Their voice of reason? Their source of inspiration? Except the object of your affection? At that point...you can no longer deny the obvious. It is not YOU who is toxic. It is them. And because you are in love...you fell for the okey doke. Oh well. You can only pray for the happiness, and emotional health of this individual, and leave the toxicity behind. Its not you. Its them. đł
