When you’re famous, no one looks at you as a human anymore. You - TopicsExpress

When you’re famous, no one looks at you as a human anymore. You become a property of the public. There’s nothing real about it. You can’t put your finger on who I am. I can’t put my finger on who I am. I am complicated… I always considered myself a feminist, although I was always afraid of that word because people put so much on it. When, honestly, its very simple. Its just a person who believes in equality for men and women... I have a lot of empathy for men and the pressures that they go through, and the cultures that have been created, especially for African-American men. I have the same empathy for women and the pressures we go through... I was so deeply moved by this video and the aspects of her story that Beyoncé shared with us-- the public. She spoke so much truth. Beyhive or NOT, theres no denying that this woman is indeed an icon, and Im glad shes using her platform to spark conversation around feminism. I think people indeed forget that she is first and foremost [human]!
