Whenever I want to increase the dramatic feel of a scene or reveal - TopicsExpress

Whenever I want to increase the dramatic feel of a scene or reveal fine details in a shot, I use slow motion as one of the means. It is a simple yet versatile tool for any videographer. As you can see from the video, notably the last scene, changing the scene from real time to slow motion creates quite a dramatic difference. With a camera like the RX100 III, you can easily create the impression of a pro-like film just by recording a clip. Simply set movie recording format to XAVC S and record setting to 100p, and you will be able to shoot a crisp fast-rate video that you can use on a slower playback timeline of any post-processing application. This will automatically create slow and smooth motion! Tips on the use of faster rate recording: Rock-steady footage - Forgot to bring your stabiliser? No problem! Shooting in faster rates and playing back in slower rates will help to achieve smooth, stabilised motion. Reveal interesting details - Having a super fast recording rate, coupled with a faster shutter speed, reveals interesting details in shots that might otherwise be less impressive. Cinematic feel - Shooting at 100 fps for playback on a 24 fps timeline yields glass-smooth slow motion that can be played back at 25 percent, which enhances the mood of the shot.
