Whenever Im eating out, and someone gets that poor you look on their face and says to me Oh, you cant have eggs either? or Oh, you cant have milk, right? I always correct them (very politely) and say, I can, I just choose not to. I also make sure to refer to an animal as a her or a him and never an it. And I dont use phrases like kill two birds with one stone or as easy as shooting fish in a barrel or get your ducks in a row. Try to inspire compassion with the everyday language that you use... its so simple, and yet so powerful :)
