Whenever a woman, any woman steps forward to empower other women it seems to create sense of discomfort and disquietude. I am often branded as a feminist, or a women’s libber, I am neither. What I am is a Christian with a clear voice, a voice that declares and trumpets growth and change in the lives of all women everywhere. I am concerned that we do not live full lives, that we neglect our health, our minds and finances all in the name of Christianity. We hide behind flawed and erroneous teaching and are not able to ever fully express who and what we are. I am not trying to start a revolution or a women’s movement. What I am doing is empowering women to grow and to develop within the context of scripture, which is crucial to my life. Women need to know that they too are truly a part of Gods wonderful plan and promises and that the declaration in Jerimiah 29 was recorded for them as well. As I move forward in this area, I am asking that you pray for and with me. I am in an isolated place, the slope is a slippery one because very few Christian women or men (there are a few) genuinely or authentically advocate for women. Women have a voice; a unique and extraordinary voice, a compelling and comforting voice. Our voice does not classify us the progeny of Jezebel or Vashti. Men cannot speak for us, unless the Holy Spirit enables them they cannot relate. Our voice is distinct, we are women. Like the women in scriptures we have our own relationships with God and are not mute. We are the Sarah’s, the Ruth’s, the Esther’s, the Abigail’s, of our time, fresh off the pages of scripture. We share their issues, concerns and wishes. Many of my clients are women trying to make sense of some of the ghastly circumstances of their lives, these are brilliant, talented, Godly and beautiful women.
