Whenever my brother in law visits my place in Washington, he loves to stand outside and gaze at the stars. He has a lot of light pollution where he lives so whenever he can, he loves looking at the night sky when the stars are out. Now, I am visiting his place near St. Louis. I understand the light pollution that he contends with, but I still see a few stars peek there way through to say hello at night. What I have enjoyed the most is the hum of the crickets and other bugs that call the greenbelt areas over here home. They are pretty quiet through the course of the day, but as twilight comes they start conversing to each other about the events of the day. As the night gets darker they get louder, reassuring each other in a melody of harmony and tranqulity.. You could say that despite what the day has brought them, they end it with a song in their heart. Hey, maybe we could do the same. Goodnight from Illinois... may there be a song in your heart.
