Where Id Rank the Top 5 receivers going into 2014. 1. Brandon Marshall -What a 2013, one that isnt properly appreciated. Marshall did pretty much everything right, catching 12 touchdowns on the season running all sorts of routes while adding some absolutely ridiculous run blocking. All the while absorbing all the coverage, allowing teammate Alshon Jeffery to have the year he did. He did everything to secure the top spot for the time being. The one concern we have is his league-leading 15 drops, but the ridiculousness of the rest of his game in 2013 gives him the nod. 2. Calvin Johnson -Another year, another excellent season for Megatron. While the one knock on him (his route running, doesnt run great variety of routes) sticks him below Marshall this year, there may not be a better pure receiver. Only Antonio Brown graded higher, as Johnson missed time. 3. DeMaryius Thomas -With Brown gone, Im forced to compromise. DeMaryius Thomas is a force in the open field, running crisp routes with his extreme athleticism. A threat from anywhere. He makes Peyton Manning look better. 4. Josh Gordon -Gordon had a great year, leading the league in receiving yards, largely as a result of destroying any and all competition over the second half of his 14-game season. The biggest highlight came against New England, when he eviscerated Aqib Talib. 5. Andre Johnson - Not a lot has changed. Andre Johnson is the same elite receiver hes always been, now with the trust and ability to run any route in any playbook.
