Where Kent McDonald lives this morning its 46 as of 8:00 a.m. CDT / 7:00 a.m. MDT. In Tulsa its 76. Oklahoma City its 74. Ardmore its 80. Muskogee its 75. In Albuquerque it feels like 40. In all of those places in Oklahoma the heat index is between 84 and 90. Could Fall be around the corner? Click See more for a little teaser. :). Temperatures today will range from 90 for a high in Grove Oklahoma to near 100 in Enid, Altus and Alva. Moisture is still in place with dew point temperatures in the 70s across almost all areas except the far western sections of Oklahoma where the long-term drought continues to affect moisture content there. On Friday a moderately strong cool front will move through the area further suppressing the heat dome / upper-level high pressure done southward briefly. Temperatures will cool to the 80s for highs and the 60s for lows. Next week well briefly see the upper-level high pressure system return and bring temperatures back into the 90s through Wednesday of next week. A second stronger front will make its way through the State bring temperatures down into the upper 70s to low 80s during that time for highs and the lows into the upper 50s to mid 60s. On or around the 17th of September the first of a series of seasonal transition systems as I like to call them will make its way here. Then we will see a drop from the 90s into the 60s and 70s for highs and the low 50s to near 60s for lows. Fridays front will bring a decent chance for rainfall but it will also be one of several severe weather makers. Therell be more on this later today. But for now see it as a teaser. :).
