Where are our Celebrities convictions? Where are their souls? Where are the Ray Charles of today who would be daring enough and conscious enough to risk fame, money, popularity, to speak out and boycott in the name of justice? Ray had much to lose, but he came to understand that as a celebrity, as a public figure, he had a responsibility to not leave hanging the very people who made him famous to begin with. It cost him dearly, but in the he was on the side of righteousness and justice. We have more Black celebrities today then back then, more powerful and influential Black celebrities today than back then, more wealthy Black celebrities today then we had back then, and yet they mouths remain shut, by in large. But you see, there in lies the problem. Their souls have been sold to the dollar, and when you lose your soul, you lose your voice, your courage, your values, and your convictions. These multimillionare, multibillionare, and we know who they are, Black celebrities, which includes musicianns, artists, sports figures, preachers...yeah thats right...mentators, politicians, etc. ought to be ASHAMED of themselves!
