Where did we go wrong? How can we turn things around? We need to understand, elections have consequences. We need to become engaged; aware of and where necessary, vocal about the decisions being made for US in Washington. So many today choose to disengage from following current events, then step into a voting booth and vote for the politician whose name they are most familiar with, or the one who promises the World and more. Still others just vote for the person representing their preferred party, without regard to their values and political goals. With $17 Trillion of National Debt we should not be looking for what gimmes are being offered; but, how much we can retain of Federal Programs while reducing the National Debt as much as possible. We need to call Congress and state our disagreement with their loose spending policies, and wasteful earmarks on legislation. Call your congressional representative or Senators office with your disappointment of their vote on policies you favor. They will get the message, yours and the knowledge that their constituents are WATCHING them, not so right now! We cannot put all of Americas problems on the backs of our political appointments if we keep voting for those who routinely disappoint or disregard US. CASE IN POINT, Illegal Immigrant Reform and Amnesty, without first closing our SE border with Mexico and enforcing the current Immigration Laws. Someone who breaks into a bank and hauls off with a couple million isnt given amnesty because, they put some of the money to good use for others. They broke the law! Any remaining money would be returned to the victim and the guilty would be imprisoned (or in the case of Illegal Aliens, returned to their country of origin). We need to impress upon ALL of our youth the need to acquire a good education and help promote the best education system in the World. IT IS NOT A MATTER OF JUST SPENDING MORE! AMERICA, LIKE ANYTHING ELSE IN LIFE, will be and is as good as the effort WE all put into it. May GOD bless the United States of America!
