First I must thank Lytton High School for letting us hold our concert in their hall, there is no concert without a venue, big thanks to Kevin and Marilyn for their help and a big thanks to uncle Albie Gibson for hooking it up for us. Huge thanks to our MC for the night Meredith Akuhata-Brown, you are the bomb. Big Mihi to Papa Taina for opening and closing the night, and your words of wisdom you gave our tamariki, and for always being there for our kura. Koka Ra and the Waikirikiri Acapella group, sounding sweet as always and a perfect way to compliment our opening karakia. Te Roopu Kapa Haka o Ritana, first act up and BOOM!!! Totally blew me away and the crowd as well, big thank you to T.A and team for helping us out. (N8V LOOPS) brother Bazz and the bro, loved the reggae vibe brothers, thank you for your tautoko. Miss Pou, definitely a star in the making bub, keep doing what youre doing and youll be singing along side Ria Hall, Maisey Rika an Aaradhna in no time, thank you for performing. Brown Sugar, so glad you chose our concert to be your first public performance. Couldnt tell that it was though, sounded like you had been together for years, nga mihi. Jesse Chase Matete, I love seeing new talent and Im blown away at how easy youngsters find it to perform nowadays, you can sing bro, thank you for supporting our kaupapa. Te Moanaloa Pasifika, that island flavour in the mix was awesome!!! Loved the colour and movements, magical stuff. My bro Reyna T Marama (Dreadeye). Thank you for your support and putting your talent on show to help us. Brother Peta Norris, doesnt need a band, instruments or backing tracks, lol. Amazing bruv, thank you for performing. Waimererangi Pewhairangi, another amazing youngster with an awesom voice, even had the back up girls, Gemma, Muriwai and Bobby, thank yous heaps. Fae and Alyssha, too mean you two, acting all nervous and then Boom!!! smashed like a couple of pros, thank you for your support. Paora, so talented bro, thank you for going beyond tutor duties to help our kids, nga mihi. Robert Ruha, what can I say bro? You give up your time for free to help our tamariki, give us an insight into your upcoming EP, and show us how to perform with power. Thank you 1 million times over for all your tautoko to our tamariki over the years and for performing for us, we cant wait for the EP. Our Waikirikiri kids, you were awesome last night. You made us all proud again, and we know you will bring that passion at the nationals. Just over a week to go and well be there. Big mihi to our tutors, good to see our kids getting better all the time, they are going to peak at Nash, I can feel it. Thanks to my mate Russell for the sound system, always reliable bro, thank you.
