Where is the Conviction? Two pastors from Chase Oaks have defended the blasphemous title for their current series, Dirty Jesus. Because of my great love for Jesus, I could not allow such blasphemy to go unabated. It truly saddens me that they remain defensive of the title “Dirty Jesus. The adjective used to describe Name above all names is loaded with everything that Jesus is not. From Webster’s dictionary the word “dirty” is described as: not clean or pure, likely to defile with dirt, contaminated with infecting organisms, containing impurities, morally unclean or corrupt, indecent, vulgar, dishonorable, disagreeable, distasteful, abominable, hateful and likely to cause disgrace or scandal. There is a profound difference in calling the Holy Son of God “dirty and saying He got His hands dirty. Even so, such a statement is not found in the Bible. Furthermore, the word “dirty” NEVER appears in the entire Bible. The Lord Jesus humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the Name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth. I pray God will bring conviction on those who approved “Dirty Jesus” in order to as they said, debunk the notion of Jesus being this squeaky clean, white-robed man with perfect hair.” I say this as one brother-in-Christ admonishing other brothers-in-Christ. This is what the Holy Head of the Church exhorts us to do through His Word.
