Where is the fire & the truth in music today, here in our consumer society ? I hear well crafted, often beautiful sounding songs, I hear sentimental but well worn lyrics, I hear well played arrangements, I hear lush productions, I see clever marketing, I see mini-movies as video, I see normal people .. made to look extraordinary, I see brilliant editing and wild locations ... yet I feel unmoved, unchanged, uninspired & I feel the corporate manipulation. Are we too conditioned, to accept, embrace and applaud the wall of musical pollution, that is omnipresent from waking til sleep and even then .. intrudes, into our subconscious .. weaving its insidious web ?
