Where to begin? A life changing day for sure. And so excited - TopicsExpress

Where to begin? A life changing day for sure. And so excited that mom & dad were with me for the entire 4 hours at Stanford with the most amazing team of reasearcher ever! Mom was holding back tears as frequently as I was...shes been with me every step of the way navigating this rediculous disease. Her text to me early this morning says it all, Feels like the day I came for Lilys birth! Without going too deep, Im officially being controlled by an iPhone and Im wearing about $15K of IRREPLACABLE hardware. I have big pockets, a lovely fanny pack and an insane amount of supplies. Within 10 minutes of arriving home the 24hr monitoring staff called to report they had lost connection with me. Yes I have someone watching me 24/7, and they call if the Bionic Pancreas (i.e. the brick) is not sending data for more than 15 min. Turns out we live in the middle of Silicon Valley and my house has really poor cell connection! Explain that one please. So my blood sugars were horrific all day due to so much anxiety. I have finally dipped below 150 (thanks to a lovely glass of wine!). Apparently it takes about a day for the system to learn my body so Im not worried about just one day of crappy sugars (I never am, but Im really not worried today). Im beyond tired and its only 7pm. Think its going to be an early night. Keeping my fingers crossed that Dexcom (thats the gadget on my arm) reads continually through the night as this is what is controlling the medication dosing. Historically, I get huge data gaps at night from sleeping too hard on Dexie. Thank you to everyone for your support and interest. Frankly, I didnt know I had that many FB friends. Youre all coming out of the woodwork and I love it!
