Where was we? Oh! ..... Scotland ...... of course. Well, after that little bimble around the Ayr coast, it was getting a bit late (beer Oclock, and then some) so thoughts turned to camping for the night. Now, this was the very height of midge season in the Highlands, and if youve never heard of the fearsome Scottish Highland Midge then ...... well ..... dont go to Scotland in July! It just so happens that I rocked up at the Northern end of Loch Lomond, which is *midge central* and .... Oh my sainted trousers, the little buggers were out in FORCE. In fact, never seen them that bad, and Ive been around a bit? Luckily, I had me Avon Skinsosoft cream, and there was an open fire up by the bar on the site ... two things that are pretty effective at keeping the devils at bay. Had a good scoff, supped some decent Ale, and soaked up the surroundings. :) Whilst watching a couple of young, inexperienced German campers trying to set up their tent whilst doing the Midge Dance :) Going to bed though, them bloody midges were SWARMING - got in me eyes, ears and I couldnt help but breath em in! Unreal .....
