Where were you on 9-11? What was your reaction? What were your feelings? This Thursday, Sept. 11 will mark 13 years since 9-11. What do we need to learn from 9-11? How can we solve the problems we face in this country? Our Father gives us these words of wisdom: If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land, 2 Chronicles 7: 14, NIV. Note, it begins with Gods people: If my people, who are called by my name . . . Our Father calls us to do four things: 1. Humble ourselves. The problem is pride. Self-centeredness. I, me, mine. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you. Cast all your anxieties on Him, for He cares about you, I Peter 5: 5--7, RSV. 2. Pray. Gods Word says, Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you, I Thessalonians 5: 16--18, RSV. Keep praying, keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking. 3. Seek Gods face. Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always, I Chronicles 16: 11. The most important part of your life is your relationship with your Father. Seek Him, Worship Him. Nurture your relationship with Him. Make sure your children and grandchildren are being nurtured in the love of the Father. Church. Sunday school. 4. Turn back to God. This nation is lost. Look at the news. Listen to people. Look at their lives. Look inside yourself. Were lost. We need direction. We need guidance. We need a Savior. If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land, 2 Chronicles 7: 14, NIV. If we humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, turn back to the Lord, then He promises us He will hear, forgive, heal. God is our only hope. A timely message.
