Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down , and the feeble knees - TopicsExpress

Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down , and the feeble knees ; And make straight paths for your feet , lest that which is lame be turned out of the way ; but let it rather be healed . Follow peace with all men, and holiness , without which no man shall see the Lord : (Hebrews 12:12-14) This first verse (12) in our text, is an indication of exhaustion and frustration. With hands hanging, knees (and legs) tired, the person described here is on the path but having a hard time with the journey. Lame and halt, spiritually speaking, are here encouraged to go on. One suggestion by our writer is to pick the straight path. Jesus commended the same in encouraging the straight gate and narrow way (Matthew 7:14). Healing is mentioned, indicating the availability for it. This spiritual healing is for continuing on the path. I included the last verse of our text to show a suggestion for the weak in faith. The Hebrew writer here encourages peace with others and living in holiness. This seems to indicate a way to heal our lameness and discouragement. If we help others our journey is made straighter. GOD BLESS
