Whether the PDP,accept it or not,i seriously believe that they realize that they in for the fight of their lives,come next year. What has struck me most,is how they have suddenly stopped trying to sell the President.Rather,its has been a sustained...denigrate the person of Buhari campaign! I have read over and over,the same things.......The sins of Buhari,by Wole Soyinka,The Blood of Corpers is on Bharis head(may they rest on peace),Why a jihadist can never be President,The Battle between Darkness and Light,etc,etc. I will be the first to admit that i always felt Buhari,would be a hard sell.Not because the man lacked integrity,but because he is a passionate man,who sometimes speaks impulsively,forgetting that once something is said ,it cannot be unsaid. Yet,i believe that everyman,should be given the latitude to change even the most fundamental of his beliefs at least once in his lifetime.Some will do so more than once! What do i mean?Unless Buhari,is a fool,it would be most disastrous to make religion a major fulcrum of his campaign strategy! Boko Haram,had put paid to that.How?Everyone in the North today,is sick of this brand of extremism,especially as they cannot know if they or their kin could be the next victims. They as well as us,who live in the Southern part of Nigeria,have all come to see how a monster can easily be created.Any Nigerian,who aspires to high office today,had better understand that pandering to the religious whims of one section of the country and promoting same over the other,will pull you down,rather than push you up! I do not know the inner workings of Buharis heart,but i do know that,should he win,he cannot work with Moslems alone.He Must have a reasonably balanced cabinet! There would still be the Natoonal Assembly,made up of both Moslems and Christians.This Islamization thing,CANNOT and I Repeat,CANNOT EVER BE ACHIEVED IN NIGERIA,so lets give it a rest.Its a jaded story! We have been in OIC (stupid move) but i really dont see how that had made me any less a Christian than i am.I cannot see how it has made Islam more attractive to non Moslems.So,Buhari,would be a really big DUNCE,to move in the direction of FUNDAMENTALISM.And,i doubt he is a fool. I think we should all be examining what is on offer from the two candidates or parties.We have had 15 years of PDP and six years of Jonathan(almost),i cannot see that life or the quality of it,has improved significantly.There are a lot of paper achievements,which have not improved the lot of the common man on the streets.If anything,the price of Garri,will soar by next year! If anything,i KNOW we need a change.That CHANGE,is what Buhari represents.My vote has been decided. As my friend and brother Okunnuga Oluwole,put it,NIGERIANS ARE SICK AND TIRED OF BRING SICK AND TIRED IF PDP!
