Whether to continue allowing archery hunting for deer on township park and open space land may soon become a hot topic. We hear that the townships safety committee and parks and recreation board are taking positions on the issue. Archery hunting of deer helps control the population of these suburban shrubbery eaters but shooting arrows may also be considered a safety hazard to people using the parks and open space. A township code enforcer has reportedly put a violation sign on an archery hunters tree stand in one of the township parks, even though it is not clear whether the tree stand is violating any township rules. Anybody know anything about this issue of archery hunting on township property ??
