According to the Westfield police and fire chiefs, the departments would be forced to eliminate five police positions - including ALL school resource officers - and would force the layoff of two firefighters, the closing of a substation, the removal of an ambulance and an engine from service, and the inability to equip a much-needed new tower truck already on order.
