Whether you consider the ALS ice-bucket challenge to be a brilliantly entertaining publicity scheme that has raised millions of dollars for research, or an annoying off-message stunt that has raised millions of dollars for research, please dont complain that its *wasting water*. a) Not everyone is in California. Most of the world (including most of the US) is not experiencing a severe drought, and the people in these places have no reason to ration water. b) Its just a drop in the bucket (so to speak). Compared to a typical bucket of ice water, you probably used more water the last time you took a piss and flushed the toilet. Or waiting for the shower to warm up this morning. Its those routine day-to-day ongoing activities (and large scale industrial uses, raising livestock, etc) that are draining reservoirs, not one-off stunts.
