Whew, this one was close God. Thanks for the mouth brakes! Went to upgrade Hay Hays wheelchair for better fitting, lighter one. Ours is a dinosaur, new designs avail now and Hay Hays outgrown chair over the 6 yrs req by ins b4 upgrade covered. Its also beyond bulky, very heavy (nearly same weight as I am!) and unreasonably difficult to manage by myself. Store was great, said ins will pay, I can pick up new in 2 wks.That was 3 wks ago. When I called for info, told chair NOT ordered and 4got to call me. Store worried ins might not pay enough, waiting to hear $ amt b4 ordering chair. No idea how long (not even a guess), will call me ASAP. I asked: days, weeks, months? She said, Yes. Oh dear, wrong answer! Breathe, pause, pray (rinse and repeat) was looping in my head. I did not lose it or yell and went about my day. That afternoon, ins mgr called to see if I could make it to new co consult this Tues in Sac. I agreed but what am I consulting about? We got current chair off the shelf no consult, just need seat with wheels not a consult? Wrong! New co custom builds chairs, need to fit Hailey and evaluate specific needs b4 ordering new one! Yahoo! Nice one God, almost let my mouth jump in front of my judgement! So grateful for ability to pause, pray and choose what I know is right (always have this choice, dont always use it!). This time I prayed instead of yelling (tho I really, really felt justified and wanted to scream!) and outcome was stunning, as always, when I step aside and let God be God. Wow.
