I dont know those conservatives, or maybe I do. I dont think comedy is a useful tool for changing these things. Comedy makes us not take things seriously. When we dont take things seriously - get this - we dont take them seriously. Then what happens, you guessed it, these things arent taken seriously and dealt with as though they matter. What does make people take things seriously? Programs like Outside the Lines on ESPN, that can sensationalize PED use and get everyone to care...about something that doesnt matter at all. Did you know children were getting paid to play football?! Oh no, we have to change that right now! And we did. That is the type of program we need taking police militarization seriously. It isnt funny, it is criminal. It isnt funny, it is dangerous. It isnt comical, it is critical.
