Which is worse: falling in the mud or kicking, criticizing and gloating over someone who has fallen in the mud? I learned and shared about a Florida pastor of a mega church in Ft. Lauderdale resigning over a moral failing. Reports have it that all his sermons on video and various media are now pulled or suspended. He founded this congregation back in the 80s. I dont know him. He could have been a jerk for the past 30 years, using up volunteers, building his own kingdom, dishing out harsh judgement without mercy on those he confronted with their sin OR he could have been a sincere human seeking for the Truth after he heard the message of the love of God through our Lord Jesus Christ, working to share life and the gospel with all, wanting to see restoration of peoples lives, their families and their community OR a combination somewhere in the middle. Perhaps he could have been just a sinner. But Jesus died for his sins — past, present, and future — as He did for our sins. Let us pray for this pastors soul. Let us pray for his family. Let us pray for this congregation. Let us weep and pray for Gods mercy! Let us weep and pray for those who want to rush in and judge. Lord, bring beauty out of these ashes. Bring salvation — spirit, soul and body — to this pastor, his family, and his congregation. Lord, have mercy!
