Which unit of the police exactly should check out for illegal goods and illegal passengers in a vehicle? Is it the white capped traffic police or those regular ones who set up road blocks or who? I have heard matatu touts saying they can even overload if the traffic cops are not there since those at road blocks have nothing to do with passengers. The guys in white kofias appear more interested in the condition of the vehicle and the DL. Have you ever seen one asking for the IDs of suspicious passengers?Infact I will be looking up the Traffic Act clearly on what it says about carrying illegal goods and passengers because I honestly dont know. But if the traffic cops are the ones expected to be checking for illegal goods and persons then we will get more terrorist travelling on our roads than we need. They are always in a hurry to wave at me to pass so that they can stop the matatu behind me.
