While Dominic Parker and I are no longer together, we made a pact - TopicsExpress

While Dominic Parker and I are no longer together, we made a pact as teenagers to do our best to be friends if it did not work out. Now we have a son who is about to be 12 and is going to have an awesome birthday and I cant thank my ex enough for stepping up to the plate as some men do not, and raising our son when I have been unable to stay on the ground or have had a hectic travel schedule, work, school, etc. We spoke today about various topics and it was nice to know I still have a family back home, even though he has expanded his and has someone special in his life and a new daughter and I have been waiting until after medical school. We (my ex husband and I) always enjoyed alternative rock music, and I miss his dreams of being a musician, model, and actor. He has given up a lot to put himself aside so my son and I have a better life and sacrificed a lot. We can not always have the perfect relationships, perfect timing, perfect backgrounds, and I myself have a hard time communicating with men as to what I envision them to be in my life. Major Jackson would always remind me that I put them too high and it hurts them, she would tell me, they are not Gods Andrea, they are just men. I may continue to have a naive perspective on the type of guy I want to spend the rest of my life with, but I am also open to living the rest of my life in the theoretical realm with a hypothesis that has proof only in my mind. We put ourselves out there and sometimes it breaks us, shakes us, but doing is apart of living, and that is what makes us.
