While Editors Slept In Agatha Christies really great memoir, - TopicsExpress

While Editors Slept In Agatha Christies really great memoir, written when she was 75, she describes her singing lessons in Paris, round about 1906. Her teacher was a M. Boue, and he objected when she wanted to learn Mon coeur souvre a ta voix, owing to it being intended for the mezzo voice; she was a lyric soprano. Apparently, though, he didnt mind her taking on a tenor standard, nor to her changing the title. On the whole I was not allowed to be too ambitious, but after about six months or so of study I was allowed to sing the famous aria from La Boheme, Te Gelida Manina [sic] and also the aria from Tosca, Vissi darte.
