While I am enjoying the low gas prices like everyone else, I believe in the long run this could be a bad thing. Opec could be playing us. The US, through drilling and other means was moving steadily towards energy independence. By lowering the price of oil we grow complacent and stop moving in the direction of energy independence. They simply wait till we give in and go back to our old ways then raise prices.
