While I appreciate her perspective, her gumption and her success - TopicsExpress

While I appreciate her perspective, her gumption and her success (which hasnt been easy for her at all), I do disagree with the basic tone of the article/interview. Maybe because I dont have a corporate job and dont work in someone elses office, I have the luxury of not having to leave the crown at work. I am moving towards a way of life where there is no line between work and home. Because both fuel each other. They do not exist in a mutually exclusive way but rather in a highly integrated, venn diagram-ish way. I am better at my work because of my family life and Im a better mom/wife/daughter/etc because of my work and self-care. Sure, I could do a better job at this integration. But my point is that never in history has there been a better time for women to work and manage a home together. It may not be perfect (and i doubt it ever will) but its a million times better than it used to be thanks to technology, changing mindsets and supportive family/friends. Women can do so much more today if they only believe they can. And I believe it will get easier with time.
