While I had planned to go on a Seine dinner cruise, I felt compelled instead to spend my last evening in Paris saying a private goodbye. I took advantage of the significantly cooler evening temps to walk across the Tuilleries, up the bank of the Seine to the Place de La Concorde. I did pause to be tempted by the Ferrari for hire (yes Todd, this time it was definitely not the Lamborghini), but passed on the opportunity to have an exotic rental car to drive to the Eiffel Tower and back. Then one last walk down Rue Rivoli, with dinner at a sidewalk cafe with friends I had never met before (nor may meet again this side of eternity) and back to the hotel to power down in the comfy sheets. A perfect ending to a perfect vacation.
