While I have a good time harassing everyone to vote in the Parade, its a nice reminder to hear why we do what we do here at WIN, and what the realities are. Every rescue the WIN brings in requires basic vetting, and some a LOT more than basic vetting. We get animals who require treatment for long term ear issues, teeth issues, allergies, incontinence... the list goes on. Its hard to fathom giving up on a dog I love because of any of these issues, but as we know, not everyone is equipped either emotionally or financially to handle lifes ups and downs. Some people are struggling just to take care of themselves. Since the first of the year, WIN has incurred vet costs over $6,000. Its what we do. Its how we help animals recover so that they can be rehomed. And we need YOUR help to keep doing what we do. So, in that spirit, if the Parade makes you smile and you want to play along, please do!
