While I was in San Francisco & Oakland over the weekend Xander took his first few steps on his own. As I began to feel sad that I missed it, I came to the realization that Wes, the warrior we were hosting, just got back from a 7 month deployment. He has a 13 month old daughter. Do the math, I couldnt imagine being away from my family for that long especially with a baby at home. I was only gone for 3 days... How could I be upset? It helped me put things in to perspective, opened my eyes and gave me a greater appreciation for the sacrifices these men and women make to be overseas away from their families. Im so thankful that my wife captured it on video!
