While I was on one of my routine trips to Panjim, something caught my attention, it was a man on one of the high tension electrical poles. What I noticed is that this govt servant who was on duty, on top of an high tension electrical pole, with no safety equipment provided to him and more over it was during this monsoons. I felt toally disgusted to see that in this country we have no value whats so ever, for human life. Why is our government not providing the necessary safety equipment to these poor wire men, who is made to work in very dangerous conditions , not at all careing for their lives, and on the other hand, hundreds of our police force are made to stand on the streets hours before one of our ministers pass that area in their well guarded cars, till they reach their destination. This is matter of importance which cannot be ignored as due to this I,ME AND MYSELF, dirty selfish attitudes we have thousands of accidents , which I wood call negligence by the government occur every year, leaving some permanently disabled and most never to see daylight. We at the Goa Citizens Welfare Trust and Dadleancho Ekvot, will take this matter up by filing a PIL if necessary against the government for deliberately and knowingly putting innocent lives at risk. Its time that we the people should start caring instead of ignoring . Jai Hind Michael Ferns
